About Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan and Master Feng Zhiqiang
Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan is a modern, integrated expression of Chen family Taijiquan developed by Feng Zhiqiang (冯志强), drawing deeply from traditional Chen Style Taijiquan (陈氏太极拳), classical Daoist internal cultivation, and Xinyiliuhequan (心意六合拳) principles. Rooted in the Chen Village tradition and refined through Feng Zhiqiang’s lifelong study under Chen Fake (陈发科) and Hu Yaozhen (胡耀贞), Hunyuan Taijiquan emphasizes unified whole-body power, correct structural alignment, and the coordinated training of body, breath, and intent.
Practice systematically integrates Taijiquan forms, standing and moving qigong, silk-reeling mechanics (chansijin), and practical martial applications, while remaining accessible as a method for health, longevity, balance, and functional movement. Rather than separating martial skill from wellness, Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan treats them as inseparable outcomes of correct internal practice, offering a complete path of cultivation suitable for both dedicated martial artists and those seeking sustainable health throughout life.

Taijiquan (太极拳), also known as Tai Chi Chuan or Taiji, is a traditional Chinese internal martial art and health practice emphasizing posture, breath, and intent to develop balance, strength, and wellbeing. Rooted in Chen Style Taijiquan (陈氏太极拳), Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan (混元太极拳)—sometimes called Hunyuan Taiji—was developed by Feng Zhiqiang (冯志强) and integrates Taijiquan forms, silk-reeling mechanics, and Daoist neigong (内功). Daoist or Taoist neigong, often referred to as qigong (气功), supports health, longevity, and functional movement as the foundation of authentic Taijiquan practice.
